Author pov...
Ever since Rahul called him and told him about Deeksha, Deepak had been frantic.
He had been scouring the same area for hours, his thumb hovering over the call button, redialing her number incessantly. But Deeksha wasn't picking up. Panic began to claw at his chest.
He tried one more time. This time, the call connected.
Deepak let out a shaky breath of pure relief the moment she answered. "Deeksha? Where are you? Do you have any idea? I've been looking for you for two hours! Are you okay?"
Deeksha's voice came through, but it was slurred and thick. "I'm fine... don't... don't take tension," she mumbled.
Deepak's brows furrowed instantly. His heart sank as a realization hit him. "Have you been drinking?
Deeksha, tell me where you are, right now. I'm coming to get you."
Deeksha let out a dry, hollow laugh. "No... I'm not telling you."
Deepak forced himself to calm down, softening his voice to a gentle, persuasive hum. "Okay, okay. Just tell me one thing... why did you drink?"
"Rahul broke my heart," she whispered, her voice cracking.
Deepak closed his eyes, leaning his head back with a heavy sigh. He stayed silent for a moment before prompting her quietly, "Go on..."
"Hmm... it hurts so much. My heart actually hurts," Deeksha whimpered. "You know, everyone breaks my heart. First Papa, then Mumma... and now Rahul. Everyone eventually just leaves me. Am I not a good person, Deepak? Is that why everyone hurts me?"
Deepak listened to her fragile voice, his grip tightening on his phone. "Listen to me. Tell me where you are. I'll come there, and then I'll listen to everything you have to say. I'll do whatever you want, I promise. Just tell me where you are."
Deeksha laughed again, but it sounded like she was on the verge of tears. "No... I don't want anyone to see me like this. Do you know how embarrassed I felt in front of Rahul? God, what must he be thinking of me?"
"You never have to feel embarrassed with me, Deeksha," Deepak said firmly, his voice laced with sincerity. "I will never, ever judge you."
Then she spoke again, her voice softer than before, almost fragile.
"Sachchi...?" she asked quietly. "You really won't judge me?"
There was doubt in her tone, the kind that comes from being hurt too many times.
Deepak didn't hesitate.
"Not at all," he said firmly. "I promise."
For a moment there was silence again, and then suddenly Deeksha let out a small, childish laugh.
It was the kind of laugh someone gives when they are testing a promise.
"Okay... then tell me something," she said. "If I do something really weird... you still won't judge me?"
Deepak frowned slightly, confused but patient."What kind of weird thing?"
Deeksha paused as if she was thinking very seriously.
Then she said something so random that Deepak almost forgot his worry for a second."What if I take the mucus from my nose... and start eating it?" she said, giggling faintly.
Deepak blinked in surprise."What?"
Deeksha laughed again, her laughter slightly unsteady."I'm serious! Answer me. Even then you won't judge me?"
Deepak rubbed his forehead helplessly but replied calmly,
"No... even then I won't."
"Hmm..." Deeksha hummed thoughtfully, as if she was checking the limits of his patience.
Then she continued in the same dramatic tone,"And what if I stop taking baths for many days? Like... a lot of days. I have become completely messy."
Deepak let out a quiet breath, a faint smile appearing despite his concern.
"Even then," he said.
Deeksha gasped softly in an exaggerated surprise."Really? Even then?"
"Yes."Deepak said
She stayed quiet for a moment, then spoke again, sounding even more mischievous now."And what if I start crying randomly... for no reason? One minute I laugh and the next minute I cry like a crazy person?"
Deepak's voice softened, the teasing tone disappearing.
"Then I'll just listen," he said gently. "Until you're done crying."
There was a brief silence.
Deeksha seemed to be thinking of more ridiculous scenarios.
"And what if I say stupid things... embarrass you in front of everyone... act completely weird?"
Deepak answered without hesitation,
"I still won't judge you."
Deeksha's playful voice slowly began to fade. The giggles disappeared, leaving behind a quiet heaviness.
"And what if..." she paused, her voice trembling slightly now, "what if I'm just... not good enough?"
Deepak's heart tightened hearing that.
He spoke softly, almost like he was afraid his words might break her further."Deeksha... you don't have to be perfect with me. You can be messy, emotional, angry, silly... anything. I'm still not going to judge you."
On the other side of the call, Deeksha didn't reply immediately.
Because somewhere between all the silly questions she asked and the calm way Deepak kept answering them, something inside her slowly began to relax.
For once... she didn't feel like she had to hide the broken parts of herself.
Deepak stayed silent for a moment after Deeksha's last words. Her voice had become slower now, softer, as if the alcohol and the pain were both weighing on her at the same time.
He knew she was trying to hide where she was, but he also knew he couldn't just leave her alone like this. Not tonight.
"Deeksha..." he said gently. "Just tell me where you are."
"No," she replied stubbornly, a faint laugh escaping her lips. "I told you already... I don't want anyone to see me like this."
Deepak closed his eyes for a second, trying to think. Then he spoke again, keeping his voice calm so she wouldn't hang up.
"Okay... fine," he said softly. "Don't tell me exactly where you are."
"Hmm," Deeksha hummed lazily.
"But at least tell me one thing," he continued. "Are you inside somewhere... or outside?"
There was a small pause. Deeksha seemed to be thinking very hard, as if the question itself was complicated.
"Inside..." she finally said.
Deepak immediately caught onto it.
"Inside where?"
Another pause. Then suddenly loud music echoed faintly through the phone.
Someone laughed in the background, and the distant sound of glasses clinking could be heard.
Deepak frowned.
"A club?" he guessed quietly.
For a second, Deeksha didn't respond. Then she giggled softly."How did you know?"
Deepak sighed in relief, though his worry didn't disappear. At least now he had an idea.
"Deeksha... just tell me the name," he said gently. "I'm not asking for anything else."
"Nooo..." she dragged the word out childishly. "You'll come here then."
"Yes," Deepak replied honestly. "I will."
Deeksha stayed quiet again. For a moment it felt like she might refuse again.
Then she suddenly laughed softly, sounding tired now."You're really stubborn, Deepak."
"And you're really bad at hiding things," he replied calmly.
There was another small pause before she finally spoke.
"Fine... fine," she murmured. "I'm at Blue Moon Club."
Deepak straightened immediately.
"You're sure?"
"Hmm..." she said lazily. "Blue Moon Club... near the market road."
He grabbed his keys instantly.
"Stay there," he said quickly. "Don't go anywhere, okay?"
Deeksha laughed again, her voice drifting like a whisper through the phone."Where will I go...? I'm already sitting here like a loser."
Deepak's jaw tightened slightly at her words.
"You're not a loser," he said firmly. "And I'm coming right now."
Before she could argue again, he ended the call, already heading toward the door because the only thing in his mind now was finding
Deeksha before the night hurt her any more than it already had.
The club was loud, filled with flashing lights and the heavy beat of music that made the floor vibrate.
People were dancing, laughing, and shouting over the noise.
The air smelled of alcohol and perfume, and everything felt chaotic.
Deepak stepped inside, his eyes quickly scanning the crowded room.
His heart was beating fast not because of the music or the crowd, but because of the worry that had been building inside him for the past two hours.
He moved through the crowd, looking around restlessly. Every few seconds his eyes searched another corner of the club, hoping to spot her.
Then suddenly... he saw her.
Deeksha was sitting alone on a tall stool near the bar counter.
A half-empty glass was in her hand, and another bottle stood on the counter beside her.
Her hair was slightly messy, and her eyes looked distant as she slowly took another sip.
Deepak stopped for a moment when he saw her.
He let out a long sigh of relief. At least she was safe.
He walked toward her through the crowd and stopped right beside her stool.
"Deeksha..." he called softly. "Deeksha."
She slowly turned her head toward him. Her eyes were slightly unfocused from the alcohol. For a moment she stared at him as if trying to recognize him.
Then a lazy smile appeared on her face.
"Oh..." she murmured, surprised. "You came so fast."
Deepak nodded lightly."Hmm."
He glanced at the glass in her hand and the bottle on the counter, his brows tightening slightly.
"Come on," he said gently. "Let's go from here. You've had enough."
But Deeksha immediately shook her head stubbornly.
"No," she said, holding her glass tighter. "I like it here."
Deepak looked around the club. No one was paying attention to them everyone was lost in their own world of music, drinks, and laughter.
Realizing arguing it wouldn't work right now, he quietly pulled another stool beside hers and sat down.
"Okay," he said calmly. "Then I'll sit here with you."
Deeksha looked at him, slightly surprised. Then a soft smile spread across her face.
"You're so nice, Deepak," she said quietly.
Hearing that, Deepak's heartbeat suddenly quickened.
He looked away for a second, trying to hide the strange warmth that rose in his chest.
Just then Deeksha lifted her hand and signaled to the waiter again.
"Another drink," she said.
Deepak immediately leaned forward before the waiter could respond.
"No," he said firmly but gently. "No more. You've already had too much."
Deeksha slowly turned her head toward him, her expression changing.
Her eyes filled with a mix of frustration and sadness.
"No," she said stubbornly. "I need it."
"Deeksha-"Deepak said
"I need it," she repeated, her voice suddenly louder.
She looked at the glass in her hand and then back at him, her eyes shining with hurt.
"I have to forget Rahul," she said, her voice breaking slightly. "And I can only forget him if I drink."
For a moment, Deepak didn't say anything.
He just looked at her quietly, watching the pain hidden behind her drunken words.
A half-filled glass rested in Deeksha's hand while she lazily swirled the drink inside it.
Her eyes were slightly heavy from the alcohol, but the stubborn spark in them hadn't disappeared.
Deepak sat beside her, watching her carefully.
Deeksha suddenly picked up another glass and filled it again.
Then she pushed one glass toward Deepak."Drink with me."
Deepak shook his head instantly."No."
She looked at him quietly.
"We've been friends since we were kids," she said.
"So?"Deepak said
"So tonight I don't want to sit here alone."Her voice wasn't dramatic anymore.
It was just tired.
Deepak stared at the glass for a few seconds... then sighed."Just one."
Deeksha gave a small nod.
Deepak took a sip, coughing slightly at the strong taste. Deeksha laughed softly at his reaction.
"You look like someone forced you to drink bitter medicine," she said.
Deepak rolled his eyes.
But slowly the drinks kept coming.
They started talking about random things childhood memories, school fights, stupid jokes.
For the first time since Deepak arrived, Deeksha actually laughed.
Not loudly... but enough to make the heaviness in the air fade a little.
She burst into laughter.
Soon both of them were slightly tipsy, talking nonsense and teasing each other like they used to when they were teenagers.
Then the DJ suddenly changed the music to a fast dance track.
The crowd cheered as people rushed toward the dance floor.
Deeksha looked at the crowd and suddenly stood up."Dance."
Deepak looked up at her."No."
But she grabbed his hand."Come on."
"Deeksha-"Deepak said
Before he could protest, she pulled him toward the dance floor.
Soon they were standing in the middle of flashing lights and loud music.
At first Deepak stood awkwardly while Deeksha started moving to the rhythm, her hair swaying as she laughed freely.
For a moment, she didn't look like someone whose heart had just been broken.
She looked like the same confident, lively girl he had grown up with.
"Move!" she shouted over the music.
"I don't dance."Deepak replied
"You do today."Deeksha said
She spun around playfully and pulled his hands.
Deepak shook his head but couldn't stop smiling.
Finally, he gave up and started moving along with the music.
Soon both of them were dancing clumsily, laughing, bumping into each other, and nearly losing their balance.
Deepak couldn't help smiling at her.
For a while, the world outside the music didn't exist.
Then suddenly, as the beat of the song slowed a little, Deeksha stepped closer to him.
Without thinking much, she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him.
Deepak froze for a second.
But then slowly, he relaxed and held her too.
It wasn't a tight hug... just two tired people leaning on each other in the middle of a loud, glowing room.
They continued swaying slightly to the music.
After a moment, Deeksha lifted her head.
Her face was very close to his now.
She looked up at him quietly.
Deepak looked down at her at the same time.
For a second, neither of them spoke.
The noise of the club faded into the background.
The flashing lights moved across their faces while they just stood there, a little too close.
Their breathing slowed.
Their hearts were suddenly beating much faster.
Deeksha's hand was still lightly resting on his shoulder. Deepak's hand was around her back.
They had been best friends for years.
They had hugged before, laughed together, and fought together.
But this moment felt... different.
The distance between them was barely anything now.
Neither of them moved away.
Their eyes stayed locked for a few seconds longer than they probably should have.
And in that confused, emotional, alcohol-blurred moment... something shifted.
Without really thinking, they leaned a little closer.
Their foreheads almost touched.
Then suddenly-they kissed.
It was brief and unexpected, almost like both of them realized what they were doing at the same time.
A second later they pulled back slightly, both breathing a little faster, their expressions filled with surprise and confusion.
They stared at each other for a heartbeat, chests heaving, before Deeksha surged forward again, her senses completely blurred by the vodka and the stinging rejection from Rahul.
She shoved herself onto her tiptoes, her hands tangling messily into the hair at the nape of Deepak's neck.
Deepak didn't just pull her in; he anchored her.
His large hands clamped around her waist, his fingers digging into her skin as he hauled her up, forcing her body to mold against the hard planes of his.
Right there, in the middle of the sweat-slicked dance floor, they collided.
Deepak didn't care who was watching.
He claimed her mouth with a primal hunger, his teeth grazing her lower lip before he began to suckle it with a bruising intensity.
He moved to her upper lip, teasing and pulling until Deeksha let out a muffled whimper against his mouth.
It wasn't a pretty kiss. It was a battle.
Their tongues clashed and fought for dominance, tasting of expensive alcohol and suppressed longing.
Every time Deeksha tried to pull closer, Deepak's grip tightened, his possessiveness flaring as he drank her in.
The slow, heavy bass of the club music pulsed through their veins, matching the frantic rhythm of their hearts.
When they finally broke apart, gasping for air, their lips were swollen, red, and slick with saliva.
They looked at each other with wide, blown-out pupils realizing that the "friendship" they had was officially dead.
Deeksha hugged into him, burying her face in the crook of his neck, her small frame trembling.
Deepak wrapped his arms around her like a vice, his breath hot against her hair.
The sheer heat radiating between their pressed bodies was suffocating, a raw, dangerous desire that neither of them knew how to stop anymore.
Neither of them could wrap their heads around what was happening.
Deepak was fighting a losing battle with his sanity, trying to rein in the raw hunger clawing at his insides, but his desires were finally screaming louder than his conscience.
On the other side of the haze, Deeksha had completely forgotten the sting of Rahul's rejection.
The moment her lips had met Deepak's, Rahul's name had vanished, replaced by a singular, pulsing thought Deepak.
They clung to each other, their bodies radiating a feverish, uncontrollable heat that makes the air between them feel thin.
Suddenly, Deeksha pulled back from the hug, her eyes dark and unreadable.
Without a word, she turned and began weaving through the crowd toward the private hallway of the club.
Confused and completely under her spell, Deepak followed her, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird.
Deeksha stopped at one of the VIP rooms, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
She paused, her hand still gripping the heavy handle as she looked back at him a look that wasn't just an invitation, it was a challenge.
Deepak stepped into the room, the click of the lock echoing in the small space as he kicked the door shut.
He didn't waste a second. He crashed his lips onto hers again, more fiercely than before.
Deeksha met his intensity, her hands roaming frantically over his chest and shoulders, feeling the hard muscle beneath his shirt.
Deepak's hands weren't idle either they traced every curve of her body, his palms burning through her clothes as he pulled her closer, desperate to bridge the gap between them.
Between their heated, desperate gasps, Deeksha's fingers found the first button of his shirt.
She began to undo them, one by one, never once breaking the kiss as they lost themselves in the raw, unfiltered fire of the moment.
One by one, Deeksha's trembling fingers worked his buttons until the shirt fell away.
Deepak didn't move he let her take it, his eyes dark as he tracked her every movement. For a heartbeat, they just stared at each other the air thick with a tension that felt heavy enough to touch.
Deeksha leaned in, her lips finding the warm skin of his chest.
She pressed a soft, lingering kiss there, and Deepak let out a low, guttural groan that vibrated through hir entire body.
She didn't stop. Her mouth trailed a path of fire downward, from his chest to the hard planes of his stomach, while her hands explored the landscape of his skin.
Deepak's breath hitched, his lungs seizing as her touch sent jolts of electricity through him.
When her hands reached for his belt, his instinct kicked in.
He reached down, his large hand clamping firmly over hers, stopping her movement. He looked into her hazy, hooded eyes, his voice a rough whisper.
"Deeksha... look at me," he breathed. "Is this really what you want? Are you sure?"
Deeksha didn't hesitate. She met his gaze and gave a slow, determined nod.
Deepak let out a shaky breath and released his grip, giving her his silent permission.
Deeksha's fingers returned to his belt, unbuckling it with a soft clink before moving to the button and the zip of his jeans.
Deepak didn't just watch her he leaned in, his mouth finding the sensitive skin of her neck.
He claimed her there, his kisses bruising and deep as he held her against him.
Deeksha's head fell back, a broken moan escaping her lips as she lost herself in the sheer, overwhelming heat of him.
Deepak didn't take his eyes off her for a second as he kicked his jeans aside.
The air in the room was stifling, charged with a heavy, magnetic pull that neither of them could fight anymore.
He leaned back in, claiming her lips once more as he guided her toward the bed.
Deeksha sank into the mattress, her eyes fluttering shut as the heat in her veins reached a boiling point.
She was lost in the sensation of him the weight of his body, the scent of his skin, and the raw power he was barely holding back.
Deepak hovered over her, his shadow swallowing her small frame.
His fingers found the zipper of her frock, the metallic slide sounding unnervingly loud in the quiet room.
He didn't just unzip it he punctuated every inch with a trail of fire.
His mouth moved from her neck to her jawline, his teeth grazing her skin in a sharp bite that made her gasp, before he immediately soothed the sting with a slow, deliberate lick.
He moved lower, his lips pressing into the sensitive hollow of her throat, sucking at the skin until he knew he'd left a mark a silent claim that she was his tonight.
With a fluid motion, he hooked his fingers into the fabric of her dress.
He dragged it upward, over her chest and then down past her legs, tossing the discarded fabric onto the floor without a second thought.
Deeksha forced her eyes open, her breath coming in short, jagged bursts.
She lay there, vulnerable and exposed in nothing but her lace bra and panties.
Deepak stayed hovered above her, his gaze dark and predatory as he slowly took in every inch of her body, his eyes tracing the curves he had dreamed of touching for far too long.
Deepak's gaze was dark, predatory, as it landed on her chest.
Her breasts were small and perfect, the lace of her bra straining against them with every frantic breath she took.
He didn't wait. He leaned down, his mouth clamping over one peak, sucking at her through the thin fabric. A jagged, broken moan ripped from
Deeksha's throat. She arched her back off the mattress, her fingers tangling violently into his hair, forcing him closer, crushing his face against her.
The lace grew heavy and soaked, darkened by his saliva as he lashed his tongue against her, over and over.
Deeksha was burning up from the inside out.
Driven by a desperate, liquid heat at her core, she hiked her legs up, locking them around
Deepak's waist in a vice-like grip. She needed the friction she needed the weight of him to kill the ache between her thighs.
Deepak growled, a low, animalistic sound that vibrated deep in his chest.
He shifted his weight, his heavy, rigid bulge slamming against her center.
Even through the layers of her panty and his underwear, the contact was electric.
He began to thrust against her, a rhythmic, bruising pressure that made Deeksha's head toss back against the pillows.
She wasn't just taking it. Her hands slid down his back, her nails clawing into his skin as she pulled his hips into hers.
Deepak didn't hold back anymore; he buried his face in the crook of her neck, his hips moving in a relentless, punishing pace.
He thrusted his heavy bulge against her core, the friction of their underwear creating a searing heat that threatened to consume them both.
Deeksha was losing her mind. The rejection, the alcohol, the heartbreak it all vanished, burned away by the friction of Deepak's body against hers.
She let out a choked cry, her hands flying to his back.
Her nails dug deep into his skin, leaving red crescents as she clawed at him, desperate to pull him even closer, to bridge the impossible gap
between their bodies.
Deepak's control was gone. He moved back to her chest, his eyes dark and clouded with lust.
He didn't just kiss her he bit down on the swell of her breast right through the soaked lace of her bra.
The sharp sting of his teeth made Deeksha's entire body jerk.
She let out a loud, high-pitched moan that echoed off the walls of the small room, her back arching so high that only her head and heels touched the bed.
She was completely at his mercy, her core throbbing in time with every heavy, bruising thrust he made against her.
The thin lace was already soaked and ruined, a fragile barrier between his hunger and her skin. Deepak's patience finally snapped.
He hooked his thumbs into the center of the bra, his knuckles grazing her heated skin, and with one violent, powerful jerk, he ripped it apart.
The sound of the fabric tearing was loud, echoing the raw desperation in the room.
Deeksha gasped as her breasts were finally bared to the cool air, but the chill didn't last long.
Deepak's eyes darkened to a near-black as he stared at her, his chest heaving. He didn't wait a second.
He lunged forward, his mouth claiming one bared nipple with a bruising intensity, sucking her deep into his heat.
Deeksha's head thrashed against the pillow, her voice breaking into a series of jagged, high-pitched moans.
Without the fabric in the way, the sensation was electric skin on skin, raw and unfiltered.
She clawed at his shoulders, her body trembling violently as he continued to grind his heavy bulge against her core, his movements becoming more frantic and animalistic now that the last barrier was starting to fall.
Deeksha was past the point of sanity.
The fire in her blood was consuming her, and the friction was no longer enough. "Deepak... take them off," she pleaded, her voice a broken, breathless wreck. "The panties... I want to feel you. I need to feel you inside me."
Deepak froze. He pulled his mouth away from her breast, his chest heaving as he looked down at her.
His eyes were wild, clouded with a dark, dangerous hunger. "Deeksha, are you sure?" he rasped, his voice vibrating with the effort to hold back. "Because if I go further... I won't be able to stop. I'm right at the edge."
"I don't want you to stop," she whispered, her gaze locked onto his. "I need to feel you deep inside me."
That was the final blow to his restraint. Deepak crashed his lips onto hers in a searing kiss as he stripped off his underwear, finally baring his rigid, aching length.
Deeksha's eyes widened as she saw him raw and ready before he reached down and made quick work of her panties, tossing them aside.
Deepak moved between her thighs, his slick, pulsing heat brushing against her core.
He hovered over her, his muscles quivering with the sheer force of his need.
He reached up, cupping her face with both hands, his thumbs stroking her flushed cheeks.
"I love you, Deeksha," he whispered, his voice thick with a lifetime of suppressed emotion. "I love you so much."
Deeksha froze, her eyes wide as she stared up at him. The words hung in the air, heavy and suffocating.
She didn't love him. She couldn't say it back. The silence stretched between them, cold and sharp against the heat of their bodies.
Deepak waited, his heart breaking in real-time as he realized the confession was one-sided.
He saw the truth in her eyes, and a flash of desperation crossed his face. He didn't want to think he just wanted to feel.
Without waiting for the answer that wasn't coming, he arched his hips and thrusted into her with one powerful, singular motion, burying himself deep within her.
A sharp scream ripped from Deeksha's throat, but Deepak caught it instantly, crushing his mouth against hers.
Her scream was swallowed by his fierce, bruising kiss. He didn't slow down.
Driven by a mix of raw passion and the pain of her silence, he began to thrust violently, his movements fierce and rhythmic as he claimed her body, even if he couldn't have her heart.
At first, the sheer force of him was too much. Deeksha's body tensed, a sharp cry muffled against his lips as she struggled to adjust to his animalistic intensity.
Deepak was moving with a primal, unchecked hunger, his thrusts deep and unrelenting.
But as the seconds ticked by, the stinging pain began to dissolve, replaced by a low, throbbing heat that spread through her limbs.
The friction ignited a fire she couldn't extinguish.
Slowly, her body began to betray her heart she started moving with him, her hips rising to meet his, grinding against him in a desperate search for release.
Deepak felt the shift in her. He found her G-spot with a heavy, precise thrust that made Deeksha's toes curl and her head toss back.
But even as he felt her walls tighten around him, his mind was a dark place. She doesn't love me, the thought echoed in his brain, sharper than any physical sensation. She'll never love me.
The realization fueled a sudden, desperate aggression. He didn't stop he pushed harder, his movements becoming faster, more frantic.
He wanted to drown out the truth with sensation. He leaned down, kissing her hungrily, his tongue tangling with hers as if he could suck the very soul out of her.
Their bodies collided with a wet, rhythmic sound skin slapping against skin in the heat of the dimly lit room.
Deeksha's nails remained buried in the muscles of his back, anchoring herself to him as the pleasure started to peak.
They stayed locked in that fierce, bruising kiss, their breaths mingling in a hot haze, two broken souls trying to find a momentary escape in a physical fire that was burning them both alive.
Deepak was devouring her. He kissed her with such a famished, hungryly desperate intensity that Deeksha's lungs began to burn.
She couldn't draw a single breath. Panic flared in her chest as she struggled for air, her small fists thumping against his rock-hard shoulders to get him to stop.
But Deepak was gone. He was lost in a dark void of his own making, a place where he never had to let her go.
Instead of pulling back, he increased his pace, his thrusts becoming faster, harder, and more frantic.
Deeksha's head spun.confusion and fear clashing with the pleasure.
She was suffocating under his weight. With a final burst of desperate strength, she swung her hand and slapped him across the face.
The sound of the slap cracked through the room like a gunshot.
Deepak's eyes snapped open. He jolted, finally breaking the kiss and releasing her mouth.
Deeksha gasped, her chest heaving as she sucked in the oxygen she'd been deprived of, her face flushed a deep, frantic red.
But even as his head cleared, his body didn't stop. The rhythm had taken over.
He continued to thrust into her, his gaze now locked onto her tear-streaked face.
"Sorry... Deeksha, I'm sorry," he rasped, his voice sounding like broken glass.
But the apology didn't match his actions.
Driven by a maddening need to possess her, he slammed into her again with a force that made the bed frame groan.
"Aah! Deepak... slow down..." Deeksha cried out, her voice a pained whimper.
He didn't listen. He couldn't. He was deaf to everything but the blood rushing in his ears and the friction of their bodies.
They were both spiraling now, caught in a violent whirlwind of sensation.
The air in the room was electric, suffocatingly hot as they both raced toward the edge, their bodies trembling on the brink of an explosive, shattering orgasm.
The tension finally snapped. Deeksha's body convulsed as she reached her limit, her muscles tightening around him in a desperate, shivering release.
She went limp beneath him, her breath coming in ragged sobs, but Deepak wasn't finished.
Driven by a lingering, frustrated energy, he continued to drive into her, his jaw clenched so tight it looked ready to break.
Finally, with one last, powerful thrust, he felt his own control shatter.
He groaned into the crook of her neck as he released deep inside her, his body shuddering with the force of it.
Spent and broken, Deepak collapsed onto her.
He didn't pull away; instead, he buried his face near her chest, wrapping his arms around her in a tight, protective hug.
They lay there in the silence of the VIP room, the only sound the frantic, synchronized thrumming of their hearts and their heavy, labored breathing.
The fire that had consumed them only minutes ago had left behind nothing but cold ashes and confusion.
Deeksha stared up at the ceiling, her eyes blank and watery.
The alcohol haze was beginning to thin, leaving behind a hollow ache. What have I done? the question looped in her mind.
She had sought an escape from Rahul's rejection, but she had ended up somewhere much more dangerous.
Beside her, Deepak held her as if he were trying to fuse their souls together, but his mind was just as chaotic.
He had finally had her, but he knew deep down that he had never been further away from winning her heart.
Neither of them spoke. There were no words for the line they had just crossed, and no way to go back to who they were before the door to this room had closed.
He shifted slightly, propping himself up on one elbow so he could look down at her.
Her hair was a mess against the pillows, her lips swollen from his kisses, and her eyes... they were vacant, staring at nothing.
Deepak cleared his throat, the sound raspy and raw. "Deeksha," he whispered, his voice trembling with a vulnerability he couldn't hide anymore. "What I said earlier... when I told you I loved you... I meant every word."
Deeksha didn't move. She didn't even blink.
"I've felt this way for a long time," he continued, his hand reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from her forehead. His touch was hesitant now, a sharp contrast to the animalistic way he had held her minutes ago. "It wasn't just the moment. It wasn't the heat. Today, seeing you hurt because of Rahul... it killed me."
At the mention of Rahul's name, Deeksha finally flinched. She closed her eyes tight, a single tear escaping and sliding down into her ear.
Deepak's heart sank. He cupped her face, forcing her to look at him. "Deeksha, look at me. Please. Say something. I know you're hurting, but I'm here. I've always been here."
Deeksha finally turned her gaze to him, but there was no spark of love in her eyes only a deep, crushing guilt and a flicker of resentment.
"Don't, Deepak," she whispered, her voice sounding dead. "Please... just don't make this more complicated than it already is."
The rejection hit him harder than the slap ever could. He felt his chest tighten, a physical pain blooming where his heart was.
He had bared his soul, and she was treating it like a mistake she wanted to erase.
Deepak watched the play of emotions on her face. The way her eyes darted away, the way her body stiffened under his touch it was all the proof he needed.
She wasn't just sad she was drowning in guilt. Seeing her like this broke something inside him.
He realized that pushing his feelings on her right now was only making her suffer more.
He didn't pull away. Instead, he gathered her back into his arms, pulling her small, trembling body flush against his bare chest.
He held her with a tenderness that was a world away from the fire of their earlier encounter.
"It's okay," he whispered into her hair, his voice low and steady. "It's not just your fault, Deeksha. It's both of us. We're both adults, and we both let this happen. It was a mistake we made together."
Deeksha's breath hitched, a sob catching in her throat.
"Listen to me," Deepak continued, his grip tightening just a little to ground her. "I'm not going to force you to love me. You don't owe me anything because of tonight. You don't need to live in this guilt, okay? I won't let you."
That was the breaking point. The dam finally burst, and Deeksha began to cry not just a few tears, but deep, racking sobs that shook her entire frame.
She buried her face in the crook of his neck, her hot tears soaking into his skin.
Deepak just held her. He closed his eyes, leaning his head against hers, absorbing her pain even though his own heart was shattering.
He had given her a way out, a way to move on, even if it meant he would be the one left behind in the shadows of this room.
Deeksha pulled back slightly, her eyes bloodshot and her voice trembling with raw honesty.
"But I used you, Deepak..." she choked out between sobs. "I only did this to forget Rahul. I used you to escape the pain... and that's so wrong."
Deepak felt a sharp, stinging twist in his chest at her words it was the truth, and hearing it out loud hurt more than he expected.
But instead of showing it, he let out a soft, dry chuckle, a sad smile playing on his lips.
"Arey, if that's the case, then you can 'use' me whenever you want, okay?" he teased gently, trying to lighten the heavy air. "I honestly wouldn't mind being used by you."
The joke didn't stop her tears it only made Deeksha cry harder. She felt even worse knowing how much he was willing to endure for her.
"Stop it, yaar. Don't cry," Deepak whispered, his voice softening as he wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb. "It's not your fault. It's mine. I'm the one who should have controlled myself. I'm the one who let this go too far."
He looked into her eyes, his gaze steady and filled with a terrifyingly loyal promise. "If you're worried that what happened between us tonight is going to break our friendship... forget it. That's not happening. I'm not going anywhere, Deeksha. I will never leave you."
But his words of comfort only seemed to open the floodgates wider. Deeksha couldn't stop.
She kept sobbing against him, overwhelmed by the mess she had made and the pure, undeserving love
Deepak was throwing at her while she was still chasing someone else's ghost.
They stayed like that tangled together in the dark, their naked skin the only source of warmth in the quiet room.
Deepak kept whispering soft, soothing words, stroking her hair until her sobbing finally tapered off into exhausted hitches.
Somewhere in the middle of the heavy silence and the fading scent of alcohol, sleep finally claimed them both.
When the morning sun began to bleed through the curtains, a sharp, persistent ringing cut through the quiet.
Deepak groaned, his eyes snapping open. He blinked against the light, his hand instinctively reaching out for the space beside him.
The bed was cold. Deeksha was gone.
Panic flared in his chest for a second before his eyes landed on his vibrating phone.
The screen flashed with a name that felt like a punch to the gut: Rahul.
Deepak cleared his throat, trying to shake off the sleep and the guilt, and swiped to answer. "Hello?"
"Where the hell are you, man?"Rahul's voice boomed through the speaker, sounding frantic. "Is Deeksha okay? Did you find her?"
Deepak scanned the empty room the discarded clothes, the rumpled sheets, the lingering ghost of last night. "Yeah... yeah, she's fine. No problem at all."
"Then why weren't you picking up your phone?" Rahul snapped, though he sounded relieved.
"I just... I fell asleep, bhai. Sorry," Deepak lied, the words tasting like ash in his mouth.
"Alright, listen," Rahul said, his voice dropping to a serious tone. "Take care of her, okay? She's probably not going to want to see my face for a few days. She'll be too embarrassed after what happened yesterday, and I don't want to make her feel worse."
Deepak closed his eyes, a bitter, hollow laugh echoing in his mind. Embarrassed? Rahul, if only you knew. She's probably a thousand times more embarrassed by what she did with me than what she did with you.
But he didn't say it. He couldn't.
"Yeah, I get it," Deepak said instead, his voice flat. "I'll keep an eye on her."
"Thanks, man. You're a lifesaver. Talk to you later," Rahul said before hanging up.
Deepak stared at the blank screen of his phone, the silence of the room suddenly feeling deafening. He was officially the keeper of a secret that could destroy everything.
Deepak scanned the room one last time, hoping against hope that he'd find her in the bathroom or the balcony.
But the silence confirmed his fears. She was gone. She had fled the moment she woke up, leaving him alone with the wreckage of their night.
A wave of self-loathing washed over him.
He gripped his hair, pulling at the roots until it hurt. "Shit... shit!" he hissed under his breath. "What did I do? She told me she was using me, and I just let it happen. I helped her do it."
His heart felt like it was being squeezed in a vice. He knew her disappearance meant she couldn't face him and that thought hurt more than the rejection itself.
Deepak moved like a ghost, picking up his scattered clothes and dressing in a daze.
He stepped out of the club into the bright, unforgiving morning light.
The world was starting its day, unaware of the storm that had just destroyed his life.
When he reached his house, his mother, Rajni, was already at the door, her face a mask of worry and suspicion.
"Deepak! Where have you been until now?" she demanded, her voice sharp.
Deepak flinched, his heart hammering. He couldn't look her in the eye. "Maa... I was at Rahul's place. We... we just lost track of time."
Rajni's eyes narrowed with maternal instinct.
She sensed something was off, but she didn't know what. "You've become so irresponsible lately. You don't even pick up your phone!"
"I'm sorry, Maa. It won't happen again," he mumbled, staring at his feet.
"Fine," she sighed, adjusting her saree. "I've made food, eat it. I'm heading out for work now."
"Hmm," was all he could manage.
Once she left, Deepak retreated to his room. He needed to wash the scent of the club and the scent of her off his skin.
But as he stripped off his shirt in front of the bathroom mirror, he froze.
There, reflected in the glass, were the long, red nail marks etched into the skin of his back.
A violent flash of Deeksha's face hit him the way she had arched her back, the way she had screamed his name into his mouth, the way her nails had clawed into him in her moment of release.
"No... no," he whispered, shutting his eyes tight to block out the memory.
He stayed under the cold shower for a long time, trying to numb the physical and emotional ache.
After eating a few bites of tasteless food, he collapsed onto his bed. He picked up his phone, his thumb hovering over
Deeksha's contact. He typed a message, then deleted it. He tried again, but the words felt heavy and wrong.
Defeated, he threw the phone aside and pulled the covers over his head, hoping that sleep would take him back to a time before he had ever touched her.
Days bled into a week. Rahul and Deepak returned to the halls of the college, but the seat between them remained empty.
The silence where Deeksha's laughter used to be was deafening.
Both men moved like shadows Rahul, eaten alive by the guilt of his rejection, and Deepak, suffocating under the weight of a secret he could never tell.
Deepak walked into his house one afternoon, his mind heavy with thoughts of her.
He was planning to finally go to her house, to apologize, to do anything just to see her face.
"Deepak," Rajni called out as she folded clothes. Her voice was strangely quiet. "You didn't meet Deeksha before she left?"
Deepak froze in the middle of the room. A cold chill raced down his spine. "Left? What are you talking about, Maa?"
Rajni looked at her son, surprised by the sudden paleness of his face. "She's gone, Deepak. She took her mother and left for London this morning."
The world seemed to tilt on its axis.
"What?" Deepak gasped. The word felt like it was ripped from his throat. London? Shock, guilt, and a terrifying sense of loss crashed over him all at once. "Why didn't you tell me earlier, Maa? Why didn't anyone say
anything?"
Rajni frowned, confused by his outburst. "I thought you knew! Weren't you two talking? I assumed she told you goodbye."
Deepak didn't stay to hear the rest. He didn't explain. He turned on his heel and sprinted out of the house.
His heart was hammering against his ribs not with desire this time, but with pure, unadulterated terror.
She can't be gone. She can't leave like this, he screamed internally.
He ran all the way to the Thakur Haveli, his lungs burning.
He convinced himself his mother was wrong. Maybe she had just gone for a trip. Maybe she was still inside, hiding from the world.
He reached the massive gates of the Haveli, breathless and shaking, desperate to find the one person who had become his entire world and the one person he had broken.
Deepak pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the haveli and stepped inside quickly.
His breath was uneven, his mind racing with a hundred thoughts at once.
The large hall was quiet, just as it always was. Sunlight filtered through the tall windows, falling softly on the antique furniture and marble floor.
On the sofa in the middle of the hall sat Raj Vardhan Thakur, calmly reading his newspaper like he did every morning.
Deepak walked toward him, his steps hurried.
"Nanu... Deeksha isn't home?" he asked quickly, his voice slightly breathless.
Raj Vardhan slowly lowered the newspaper and folded it neatly before looking up.
"Oh, Deepak beta," he said with mild surprise. "What are you doing here so early?"
But Deepak's breathing was still fast, his eyes restless.
"Nanu... Deeksha isn't in the haveli?" he asked again, urgency clear in his voice.
Raj Vardhan frowned slightly, confused by his tone.
"No, beta," he replied calmly. "Deeksha left this morning."
Deepak froze.
"You didn't know?" Raj Vardhan added.
Deepak's heart began beating faster.
"Where did she go, Nanu?" he asked quickly.
Raj Vardhan leaned back slightly on the sofa.
"She must be in Delhi by now," he said. "From there she'll take a flight tomorrow to London. Her mother's health hasn't been good, so she decided to go."
For a moment, Deepak just stood there.
His mind was spinning.
"Delhi?" he said suddenly. "She's still in Delhi... she hasn't left India yet?"
Raj Vardhan shook his head gently.
"No, beta. Her flight is tomorrow."
A sudden determination flashed across Deepak's face.
"Nanu... can you tell me where she's staying in Delhi?" he asked urgently. "The address?"
Raj Vardhan looked slightly surprised but nodded.
"Yes, of course. She's staying at-"He told him the name of the hotel.
The moment Deepak heard it, he turned around immediately and started running toward the door.
"Deepak!" Raj Vardhan called after him. "Beta, wait!"
But Deepak didn't stop.
He didn't even look back.
His mind had only one thought now-
He had to reach Delhi.
He had to stop Deeksha before she left.
Deepak boarded a bus from Banaras to Delhi. He carried nothing with him no bag, no phone, not even money.
His mind was completely lost in a storm of thoughts, as if he wasn't fully aware of what he was doing.
He simply sat there, staring blankly ahead while the bus moved forward through the long road.
The entire day passed as the bus kept running. By nightfall, it finally reached Delhi.
As soon as the bus stopped, Deepak stood up and began to get down.
Just then, the conductor stopped him.
"Hey, where are you going? Pay the fare first. From Banaras to Delhi-500 rupees."
Deepak looked at the conductor with blank eyes. He slowly checked his pockets, one by one.
There was nothing inside. No money. No phone. Nothing at all.
For a moment, he stood there silently.
Then his hand moved to the gold ring on his finger the ring his mother had given him on his birthday.
It was the only valuable thing he had left.
Deepak slowly removed it and
handed it to the conductor.
"Take this... and give me whatever money you can from it," he said quietly.
The conductor examined the ring carefully. It was real gold.
After a moment, he looked at Deepak and said, "I don't have that much cash."
Still, he counted the money in his bag and handed Deepak nine thousand rupees.
"Here. This is all I can give. You're lucky you met an honest man today. If someone else were in my place, they would have robbed you completely."
But Deepak barely heard his words.
He quickly paid the bus fare, grabbed the remaining money, and rushed off.
Deepak stepped out onto the crowded streets of Delhi.
The night air was heavy, filled with the noise of traffic, honking horns, and unfamiliar voices.
Everything around him felt strange, but his mind was fixed on only one thing.
Deeksha.
Clutching the money tightly in his hand, he hurried toward a few people standing near the bus stand.
"Excuse me... can you tell me where this hotel is?" he asked, mentioning the name.
The man frowned for a moment and then pointed toward the road. "It's quite far from here. You should take an auto."
Deepak didn't waste another second.
He rushed to another person, then another, confirming the directions again and again, as if afraid he might lose his way.
Finally, he stopped an auto.
"Bhaiya, please take me to this hotel," he said quickly, his voice restless.
The auto driver nodded, and the vehicle sped into the busy Delhi roads.
Bright lights from shops and buildings flashed past, but Deepak barely noticed anything.
His heart was pounding with every passing minute.
After some time, the auto finally stopped.
Deepak looked up.
In front of him stood a massive, luxurious hotel.
The building rose high into the night sky, its glass walls glowing with golden lights.
Expensive cars were parked outside, and uniformed guards stood near the entrance.
For a moment, Deepak just stared at it.
Then, without hesitation, he rushed inside.
The cool air of the grand lobby hit his face as he stepped in.
Everything around him looked elegant marble floors, sparkling chandeliers, and people moving around calmly.
But Deepak's breathing was uneven, his eyes searching desperately.
He walked straight to the reception desk.
The receptionist looked up politely. "Yes, sir. How may I help you?"
Deepak leaned slightly forward, his voice anxious.
"Did... did Deeksha Thakur book a room here?" he asked quickly. "Can you please tell me which room she's staying in?"
The receptionist looked at him for a moment, surprised by the urgency in his voice, and then turned toward the computer to check.
Deepak stood there, waiting impatiently, his heart beating faster with every second.
The receptionist opened the large register kept on the desk and began flipping through the pages carefully.
Deepak stood there impatiently, his fingers tapping nervously on the marble counter.
For a few seconds, the only sound was the soft rustling of pages.
Then the receptionist stopped.
"Yes... here it is," she said, pointing at a name written neatly in the register. "Deeksha Thakur. Room number 708."
Before she could say anything else,
Deepak had already turned around.
"Thank you," he murmured hurriedly and almost ran across the lobby.
He rushed toward the elevators, his breath uneven.
His heart was pounding louder with every step.
He pressed the lift button again and again, as if that would make it arrive faster.
Finally, the elevator doors slid open.
Deepak stepped inside quickly and pressed the button for the seventh floor.
The lift began to rise slowly, but to him, every second felt unbearably long.
His chest felt tight, his mind filled with thousands of thoughts.
What if she isn't there...? What if he's too late...?
The elevator finally stopped.
Ding.
The doors opened.
Deepak stepped out into the quiet hallway.
The corridor was long and silent, with soft lights glowing along the walls and rows of doors stretching ahead.
He began walking quickly, his eyes moving from one number to another.
701...
703...
705...
His breathing grew heavier.
Then suddenly-
Deepak froze.
For a moment, he just stood there staring at the door.
His heart was beating so fast it felt like it might burst out of his chest.
Slowly, he raised his trembling hand.
And pressed the doorbell.
After a few moments, the door slowly opened.
Standing at the doorway was a middle-aged woman with sharp features and an authoritative presence Deeksha's mother.
She looked at the unfamiliar young man standing outside and frowned slightly.
"Yes? Who are you?" she asked, her tone firm.
Deepak looked at her for a moment, gathering his breath.
"Aunty... I'm Deepak Sharma," he said quietly. "Deeksha's friend."
Deeksha's mother stared at him carefully from head to toe, her eyes scanning his worn clothes and tired face. A faint look of recognition appeared on her face, but it wasn't warm.
"Oh... so it's you," she said coldly. "What are you doing here? Aren't you Rajni, the maid's son from Banaras? What are you doing in Delhi?"
Her words hung in the air like a slap.
Deepak froze where he stood. His lips parted slightly, but no words came out.
He simply stood there, silent, his eyes lowering for a moment.
Just then, a voice came from inside the room."Maa... who are you shouting at?"
A moment later, Deeksha walked toward the door.
She stepped outside casually, but the moment her eyes landed on the figure standing there, she stopped.
Her expression turned into pure shock.
"Deepak...?" she whispered, disbelief filling her voice. "What... what are you doing here?"
Deepak looked up at her.
For a brief second, all the exhaustion, chaos, and pain inside him seemed to fade.
After so many days, just seeing her face brought a strange sense of relief to his restless heart.
But before he could say anything,
Deeksha's mother spoke again sharply.
"Well?" she said impatiently, crossing her arms. "Tell us. What are you doing here?"
Deeksha glanced at her mother, anger and embarrassment flashing across her face.
Before the situation could worsen, she quickly grabbed her mother's hand and pulled her inside the room.
"What are you doing?" her mother snapped, trying to free her hand.
Deeksha shut the door firmly and turned toward her. "Maa, he's my friend. You had no right to talk to him like that."
Her mother let out a mocking laugh. "Friend? Do you expect me to believe that? A boy from Banaras travels all the way to Delhi just to meet you, and you're telling me he's only a friend?"
Deeksha's eyes hardened. "Yes. He is my friend."
Her mother stepped closer, her voice sharper now. "Stop lying to me, Deeksha. I'm your mother. I can see everything clearly. That boy didn't come here for friendship."
Deeksha took a deep breath, trying to control her frustration. "Whatever you think doesn't change the truth. He came to meet me, and that's it. Please go and rest... you need sleep."
Her mother's anger exploded.
"How dare you speak to me like that?" she shouted, raising her hand to slap her.
But Deeksha caught her wrist mid-air.
"Enough, Maa," she said quietly, but her voice carried a firmness that stopped everything. "This has already gone too far. Please go and sleep. Tomorrow we have to leave for London."
Her mother stared at her, shocked that Deeksha had stopped her hand.
For a moment, her anger burned in her eyes, but eventually she swallowed it, pulled her hand away, and walked toward the bed.
"Don't forget who you're talking to," she muttered before lying down.
Deeksha closed her eyes for a second, taking a deep breath to steady herself.
Then she turned and walked back to the door.
Outside, Deepak was still standing exactly where he had been left. His shoulders looked heavy, his eyes tired, but he hadn't moved.
Deeksha stepped out and closed the door gently behind her.
"Deepak... what are you doing here?" she asked softly.
Deepak looked at her as if he had been waiting for this moment for years.
"You didn't tell me you were leaving for London," he said, his voice low but trembling.
Deeksha looked away, her expression distant."I didn't think it was that important to tell you."
Those words shattered something inside him.
Deepak lowered his gaze for a moment before speaking again.
"I'm really sorry," he said quietly. "If you're leaving because of what happened between us... then please don't. Punish me if you want. Hate me if you want. But don't go because of me."
For a moment, Deeksha simply looked at him.
Then a faint smile appeared on her lips, but it carried sadness.
"It's not like that, Deepak," she said softly. "Maa isn't well. Abhay bhaiya has arranged everything in London for her treatment. That's why I'm going."
Deepak listened carefully, holding on to the small thread of hope those words gave him.
"So... you'll come back?" he asked, his voice almost breaking. "Right?"
Deeksha didn't answer.
Her silence said everything.
Deepak felt the truth sink deep into his chest. His eyes slowly filled with tears.
"So... this is the end for us," he whispered.
A tear slipped down his cheek.
"I came all the way here thinking... maybe I still mattered to you."
Deeksha's eyes softened with guilt and pain.
For a few moments, neither of them spoke.
Deepak stood there with tears silently falling down his face, trying to hold himself together.
Seeing him like that, something inside Deeksha broke.
Before she could stop herself, she stepped forward and suddenly wrapped her arms around him.
Deepak froze for a second, shocked.
Then all the pain he had been holding back burst out.
He held her tightly and broke down, his shoulders shaking as he cried.
"Please... don't go," he said between sobs. "Please, Deeksha... don't leave."
His voice trembled with raw emotion.
"I love you so much," he whispered helplessly. "I didn't understand it before... but now I do. Now I realize how important you are to me. I can't imagine my life without you... please don't go."
Tears rolled down Deeksha's cheeks as she listened to him.
She tightened her arms around him, her own heart aching.
"I'm really sorry, Deepak," she cried softly. "I didn't know... I never knew you loved me."
Her voice trembled with guilt.
"I was always crazy about Rahul," she admitted through her tears. "My whole world revolved around him... I never noticed what you felt."
Deepak closed his eyes, holding her even tighter, as if afraid she would disappear if he let go.
Deepak held her like someone clinging to the last piece of his world.
His fingers tightened around her back, almost afraid that if he loosened his grip even a little, she would disappear forever.
His shoulders trembled as he cried against her.
"Why...?" he whispered painfully. "Why did I understand everything so late?"
Deeksha could feel his tears soaking her shoulder. Her own tears kept falling, but she didn't move away.
Instead, she held him tighter, her fingers clutching the back of his shirt.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
The silent hallway carried only the sound of their broken breaths.
Finally, Deepak pulled back slightly, but his hands were still holding her arms, as if he needed to make sure she was really there.
"Please don't go," he said again, his voice cracking. "Stay... we'll figure something out. I'll change everything if I have to. I'll work day and night, I'll become someone worthy of you... just don't leave like this."
Deeksha looked at him, and seeing the desperation in his eyes made her heart twist painfully.
She slowly lifted her hand and wiped the tears from his cheeks.
"Deepak..." she said softly, her voice trembling. "Sometimes life doesn't wait for us to understand our feelings."
Her lips curved into a faint, sad smile.
"Sometimes... it's already too late."
Deepak shook his head immediately, almost like a stubborn child refusing to accept reality.
"No," he whispered. "Don't say that."
His voice became heavier with emotion."I spent so many days pretending I didn't care... pretending you were just a friend. But the moment I heard you were leaving... it felt like someone ripped my heart out."
Deeksha's eyes filled again.
Deepak looked down for a moment, then let out a weak, helpless laugh.
"You know something?" he said.
"What?" she asked quietly.
"I came to Delhi like a complete idiot."Deepak said
Deeksha frowned slightly through her tears. "What do you mean?"
"I didn't bring my phone... or any money," he admitted.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Deepak gave a small embarrassed smile."The bus conductor had to take my mother's gold ring to cover the fare."
"What?" Deeksha almost gasped.
"Yeah," he said with a small shrug. "If he wasn't an honest man, he probably would've robbed me completely."
Despite everything, a soft laugh escaped Deeksha's lips through her tears.
"You're insane," she said, shaking her head. "You travelled hundreds of kilometers... with nothing... just to see me?"
Deepak looked at her quietly.
"Yes," he said simply.
The honesty in his voice made
Deeksha's chest tighten.
For a moment they both laughed softly, their laughter shaky and wet with tears.
The pain was still there, but that brief laughter felt like a tiny breath of air before drowning again.
Then the silence returned.
A deeper silence.
Deeksha looked at his face carefully, as if trying to memorize every detail the tired eyes, the messy hair, the vulnerability he never showed anyone else.
"Take care of yourself, Deepak," she said gently.
Deepak nodded slowly, though it felt impossible.
"You too," he replied.
Neither of them moved.
They just stood there... looking at each other... knowing this moment was slipping away forever.
Deepak slowly stepped closer.
Deeksha didn't step back.
Their faces were only inches apart now.
They could feel each other's breath, warm and uneven.
For a second, the entire world seemed to stop.
Then Deepak gently placed his hand on her cheek.
And very softly... hesitantly... they kissed.
It wasn't a kiss filled with excitement.
It was slow, fragile, and painfully tender.
A kiss filled with everything they had
never said before.
When they pulled apart, their foreheads rested against each other.
Both of them were smiling weakly through their tears.
Deepak slowly wiped the remaining tears from his face, trying to gather himself.
Deeksha looked at him quietly, her eyes still soft with emotion.
She took a small step back.
"I should go inside," she said gently.
Deepak nodded, though it felt like something inside him was breaking again.
Deeksha looked at him one last time and forced a small smile.
"Study well, okay?" she said softly. "Become a good man."
Her voice trembled slightly, but she continued.
"And take care of Rajni aunty... she loves you more than anything. Don't forget that."Then she added quietly, "And take care of yourself too... okay?"
Deepak didn't trust his voice for a moment. He simply nodded slowly.
"Okay," he said after a second, his voice low.
Their eyes met again one last time.
"Bye, Deeksha," Deepak said softly.
Deeksha swallowed the lump in her throat and smiled through her tears.
"Bye, Deepak."
Deeksha slowly turned toward the door and walked inside the room.
The door closed gently behind her.
Deepak stood there in the empty hallway for a long time, staring at the door that had just taken away the person he loved.
For a few seconds after the door closed, Deepak stood there without moving.
The hallway was silent again, just like before but now it felt unbearably empty.
He kept staring at the door of Room 708, hoping... foolishly hoping it might open again.
That Deeksha might come running out and say she wasn't leaving after all.
But nothing happened.
The silence slowly crushed the little hope he had left.
Deepak's lips trembled. His chest tightened painfully, and suddenly the tears he had been holding back burst out again.
He covered his face with his hands and broke down.
A broken, helpless cry escaped his throat as his heart shattered completely.
For a few moments he stood there crying like a lost child, his shoulders shaking.
Then slowly, with heavy steps, he turned and began walking toward the lift.
The elevator ride down felt endless.
He didn't even notice when the doors opened or when he stepped out into the grand lobby.
People moved around him, talking, laughing, living their lives.
But Deepak felt like he was walking through a different world.
A world where everything inside him had just collapsed.
He walked out of the hotel.
The cool night air hit his face, but it didn't calm the storm inside him.
Without thinking about where he was going, he started walking down the road.
His vision was blurred with tears.
Cars passed by, streetlights flickered above him, and the distant sounds of the city filled the night but Deepak noticed none of it.
He just kept walking.
Step after step.
Tears kept rolling down his face as he wiped them again and again, but they wouldn't stop.
His heart felt like it had been ripped apart in the worst possible way.
Every memory of Deeksha played inside his mind her smile, her voice, the way she had hugged him just a few minutes ago.
And now she was leaving for forever.
A painful sob escaped his chest again as he walked along the dark road.
"I'm so stupid..." he whispered to himself brokenly.
His steps slowed, but he didn't stop.
Because stopping meant facing the emptiness inside him.
So he just kept walking through the night crying quietly, lost, heartbroken, and completely alone on the long, empty road.
