The corridor outside was drowning in chaos.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the dark hallway while angry voices searched every corner of the abandoned building.
Flashlights moved across the walls, dangerously close to where they were hiding.
But inside that small dark space behind the broken staircase...
everything felt terrifyingly quiet.
Too quiet.
The girl stood trapped between the wall and the boy's chest, her breathing uneven because of the alcohol running through her veins.
Every few seconds she lost her balance slightly, and every single time, his arm tightened around her waist before she could fall.
Possessive. Protective. Dangerous.
The boy lowered his head slightly, his lips almost brushing her hair as he listened to the footsteps outside.
"Stay still," he whispered.
The girl tried to nod seriously, but another dizzy wave hit her. She stumbled again.
Before she could slip, he pulled her harder against him.
A soft gasp escaped her lips when her body collided with his chest.
The boy's jaw clenched instantly.
"Careful," he muttered darkly. "You're testing my patience already."
The girl looked up at him slowly.
Even in the darkness, she could see his eyes watching her too intensely.
Like he was trying to memorize every expression on her face.
"What?" he asked quietly after noticing her staring.
"Nothing..." she whispered lazily.
But she still didn't look away.
Neither of them did.
Outside, someone shouted loudly, making footsteps rush past their hiding spot. Yet somehow the danger outside no longer felt like the real problem.
The real danger was standing right in front of her.
Then suddenly, the girl spoke again.
"I know how to kiss."
A low amused laugh escaped his lips.
"No," he whispered confidently, tightening his grip on her waist slightly. "You definitely don't."
Her eyebrows pulled together immediately."I do know."
"Oh really?" he murmured. "Then prove it."
The girl stared at him for two seconds before leaning closer and pressing a tiny kiss against his cheek.
The boy froze for a moment... then laughed softly under his breath.
"That?" he whispered teasingly. "That's your dangerous kissing skill?"
The girl looked completely serious as she nodded.
He shook his head slowly, staring down at her like she was driving him insane without even trying.
"No, sweetheart," he murmured. "That's not a real kiss."
Her expression turned confused immediately.
"Then what is?"
The boy leaned closer.
So close that she could feel his breath near her lips now.
"A real kiss," he whispered, "happens on the lips."
His thumb tilted her chin upward gently while his eyes dropped to her mouth.
The girl's heartbeat suddenly turned uneven.
Outside, the voices came closer again.
"Check upstairs!"
"They can't be far!"
But neither of them moved.
The girl looked at his lips for a long moment before nervously pressing the tiniest kiss against them.
The second her lips touched the boy's entire body went still.
Completely still.
Then he laughed quietly again, but this time the sound felt dangerous.
"You're unbelievable," he muttered. "That wasn't a kiss either."
The girl frowned stubbornly.
"Then show me properly."
The playful expression vanished from his face instantly.
His eyes darkened.
For a few seconds, he said absolutely nothing.
The air between them suddenly felt heavier.
"Do you even understand What you're
asking?" he asked softly.
The girl blinked slowly. "What?"
The boy leaned closer until his forehead almost touched hers.
"You pointed a gun at my head yesterday," he whispered. "You were ready to kill me without hesitation."
His fingers tightened around her waist.
"And today," he continued quietly, "you're standing in my arms asking me to kiss you like I'm some harmless man."
The girl swallowed nervously, but she
still didn't move away.
Maybe because she was intoxicated.
Or maybe because somewhere deep down... she trusted him more than she should have.
The boy noticed that too.
And that realization looked almost fatal in his eyes.
A dark smile slowly appeared on his lips.
The girl instinctively grabbed his shirt tightly.
The boy looked down at her fingers gripping him, and something possessive flashed across his face.
Then he lowered his mouth near her ear.
"The moment I kiss you properly..." he whispered dangerously, "I won't be able to stop myself from wanting more."
The girl's breath caught softly.
He noticed that too.
He noticed everything about her.
Every nervous breath.
Every shaky blink.
Every tiny reaction.
And that obsession in his eyes only became worse because of it.
"You should be scared of me," he murmured quietly. "But instead you keep coming closer."
As if proving him right, the girl unconsciously stepped even nearer to him.
A soft dark laugh escaped his lips.
"You're drunk," he rasped, his voice thick with a restrained hunger. "Tomorrow, you'll wake up and regret every bit of this."
But he was done fighting himself.
Before she could protest, he crashed his lips onto hers.
It started a messy a clumsy, desperate collision. She tasted of expensive wine and raw longing, her movements uncoordinated but eager.
The moment his tongue brushed against hers, the intoxicating heat of her mouth sent a jolt through his veins, shattering his last shred of control.
He groaned deep in his throat, a sound of pure, tortured want.
Shifting his stance, he hooked his arm under her thighs and hoisted her up, pinning her against the wall with her legs wrapped firmly around his waist.
Now, he was the one in control.
The kiss turned fierce and territorial. He consumed her, his mouth moving with a punishing, rhythmic intensity that left her breathless.
She Bhavya felt her lungs screaming for air. She tried to push him away, her fists thumping weakly against his broad chest, a silent plea for a moment to breathe.
But he was long gone, lost in a trance of his own making. He didn't want to let go couldn't let go.
Instead of pulling back, he tightened his iron grip around her waist, hauling her even closer until she was crushed against him.
He began to suckle on her lower lip
with a desperate, hungry intensity.
The taste was dangerously sweet like honey laced with the wine she had consumed.
It was an intoxicating nectar that blurred his senses, dragging him deeper into a dark, velvet haze where nothing existed but the feel of her mouth against his.
He was drowning in her, his kiss becoming more possessive by the second, until he felt her body go completely limp in his arms.
The resistance stopped. The frantic heartbeat against his chest seemed to fade into a terrifying stillness.
Panic, cold and sharp, sliced through his desire like a blade.
He jerked back, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
"Bhavya?"
His voice was no longer a low growl it was trembling with raw fear. He cupped her face, his fingers shaking as he lightly slapped her cheeks to wake her.
"Bhavya! Open your eyes. Bhavya, look at me!" The silence of the hallway outside was nothing compared to the deafening silence of her response.
Her eyes stayed closed while her unconscious body rested weakly in his arms.
His heartbeat turned violent.
"Bhavya!" he called again, his voice sharper now.
And that single shout became his mistake.
Because the moment his voice echoed through the corridor-
Footsteps rushed toward them instantly.
"There!"
Before he could react properly, a gunshot exploded behind him.
The bullet grazed past the side of his head, smashing into the wall nearby.
Bhavya's unconscious body almost slipped from his arms, but he pulled her against his chest immediately, shielding her completely with his body.
Several armed men surrounded them within seconds.
And then one of them smirked coldly.
"Finally found you...Kabir Patil" he said darkly.
Kabir slowly lifted his eyes toward them.
His face had gone terrifyingly emotionless now.
One hand stayed protectively behind Bhavya's head while the other held her tightly against his chest like he would kill anyone who dared touch her.
"You're mistaken," he said coldly. "My name is Samarth."
A harsh laugh escaped one of the men immediately.
"Don't insult our intelligence," the man sneered while aiming the gun directly at him. "Maybe the girl in your arms doesn't know who you are..."
His eyes dropped toward Bhavya unconscious against Kabir's chest.
"...but we do."
The atmosphere turned deadly silent.
Then the man smiled darkly.
"... the Don himself."
He took another step closer slowly.
"It's been years since we met face to face."
Kabir's jaw tightened violently.
The man looked between Kabir and Bhavya before chuckling mockingly.
"You hiding a girl in your arms?" he taunted. "That's new."
Kabir's expression darkened instantly.
Dangerously.
The grip around Bhavya tightened possessively as if even looking at her was forbidden for them.
Then Kabir finally spoke.
And his voice came out calm in the most terrifying way possible.
"Look at her again..." he said softly, "and I'll make sure none of you leave this building alive."
The corridor fell completely silent after that.
Because everyone standing there knew one thing very clearly-The man in front of them wasn't just dangerous anymore.
He was furious.
