Chapter 79

Author pov....

Six months later, life had become even more beautiful for Rahul and Ishani.

The bond between them had grown stronger than ever. Earlier, Rahul could understand Ishani's feelings without her saying a single word.

Now, Ishani had learned to read his silence just as easily. A glance, a small smile, or even a moment of quiet was enough for them to understand each other.

One evening, they were standing together in the living room.

Ishani looked at Rahul and said softly, "How about we go to Banaras for a

few days?"

Rahul turned toward her. "Banaras? But why?"

A faint smile appeared on her face. "No special reason. I was just missing Bhaiya and Maa."

The moment Rahul heard that, he nodded without hesitation."Okay. Let's go."

Ishani's eyes instantly lit up with happiness. The fact that he agreed so quickly made her heart warm.

Just then, the front door flew open with a loud bang.

Deepak rushed inside, completely out of breath.

"Bhabhi!" he shouted. "Deeksha's water broke! The baby is coming! Hurry!"

Without waiting for a response, he spun around and ran back out of the house.

Rahul and Ishani stood frozen in shock for a second, trying to process what they had just heard.

Then they looked at each other.

"The baby!" Ishani exclaimed.

The very next moment, both of them sprinted after Deepak, their hearts racing with excitement and nervous anticipation as they rushed toward

Deepak ran around the house like a man who had forgotten how to think.

He grabbed the baby bag, then a water bottle, then another water bottle, and then somehow picked up a teddy bear too.

Meanwhile, Deeksha was sitting on the couch, groaning in pain.

"Deepak! Where are you?" she shouted.

"I'm here, baby!" Deepak yelled from another room.

"Then why are you shouting from there?"

A second later, he appeared in front of her carrying half the house in his hands.

"Everything will be fine," he said nervously. "Come on, let's go."

"Stop collecting random things and take me to the hospital!" Deeksha snapped.

Rahul and Ishani stood nearby, watching the chaos unfold.

Deepak carefully helped Deeksha up and rushed toward the door.

"Rahul! Bring the car around!" he shouted.

"Okay!" Rahul replied and immediately sprinted toward the lift.

The first lift arrived, and Rahul jumped inside before anyone else could enter.

At the same time, Rajni returned after dropping Mannat and Ishaan at Kiara's house.

The moment Deeksha saw her, she almost burst into tears."Maa... it hurts so much!"

Rajni gently held her hand."Everything is fine, beta. Just breathe."

The rest of them took the second lift downstairs.

Outside, Rahul had already brought the car around.

Rajni sat in the back first, followed by Deeksha. Deepak squeezed in beside her. Ishani quickly took the front passenger seat.

The second everyone settled in, Deeksha shouted,"RAHUL! DRIVE!"

Rahul nearly jumped out of his skin.

"H-haa! Yes!"

He slammed the accelerator and the car shot forward.

A few moments later, another wave of pain hit Deeksha."AAAHHH!"

Without warning, she grabbed a fistful of Deepak's hair and pulled.

"OWWW!" Deepak screamed.

"My hair! My beautiful hair!"

"You think about your hair right now?" Deeksha shouted, pulling harder.

"Then what should I think about?" Deepak cried.

"The baby!"

"Right! The baby! Forget the hair!"

Another painful contraction came.

Deeksha pulled his hair again.

"AAAHHH!"

This time Deepak looked at Rahul desperately."Rahul, drive faster!"

The entire ride to the hospital was filled with Deeksha's shouting, complaints, and dramatic accusations.

Another contraction hit, and she grabbed Deepak's arm.

"AAAHHH! After this, I am NEVER getting pregnant again!"

Deepak nodded nervously.

"Okay, okay..."

"This is all YOUR fault!"

"Mine?"

"YES, YOURS!"

She pointed at him angrily."I agreed to have a second baby only because you wanted to see me experience pregnancy again. Well, LOOK AT ME NOW!"

Deepak immediately looked out the window as if the scenery had suddenly become very interesting.

"Why are you looking outside?" Deeksha yelled.

"No reason..."

Another wave of pain came.

She grabbed his hair and pulled.

"OWWWWW!"

"Why can't YOU give birth?" she shouted.

"What?"

"Seriously! Why do men get to stand around while women do all the hard work?"

Deepak opened his mouth, thought about answering, then wisely closed it again.

Rahul was sitting in the driver's seat, gripping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles had turned white.

Every time Deeksha screamed, he jumped."AAAHHH!"

Rahul almost pressed the horn by mistake."AAAHHH!"

Rahul nearly missed a turn.

Ishani looked at him and tried not to laugh.

Another contraction came.

Deeksha glared at Deepak.

"I hate you."

"I know."

"I REALLY hate you."

"I know."

"I'm never talking to you again."

"I know."

Five seconds later, she grabbed his shirt."Don't leave my side."

Deepak sighed dramatically.

Meanwhile Rahul quietly prayed,

"Please let us reach the hospital soon... for the baby's sake, for Deeksha's sake, and most importantly... for Deepak's hair."

Rahul finally pulled the car into the hospital entrance and hit the brakes.

Before the car had even fully stopped, Deeksha was already shouting.

"AAAHHH! I can't do this anymore!"

Ishani turned around and tried to calm her."Deeksha, relax! We're here. It's the hospital."

But Deeksha wasn't listening to anyone.

Another contraction hit."Don't tell me to relax!"

Deepak quickly jumped out of the car and rushed to her side."Come on, baby. Carefully."

Somehow, after a lot of complaining, dramatic groaning, and Deepak nearly losing his balance twice, they managed to get Deeksha out of the car.

The entire time, she kept glaring at Deepak as if he had personally invented childbirth.

Deepak avoided eye contact completely.

"Nope," he thought. "Not looking at her. Not today."

As they reached the entrance, Rahul came running with a wheelchair.

"Here!"

The moment Deeksha saw it, her expression softened."Thank you, Rahul."

Rahul smiled.

Then Deeksha pointed at Deepak.

"This husband of mine doesn't know anything. He was practically making me walk all the way inside!"

Deepak looked horrified."That's not true!"

Rahul immediately looked away, trying not to laugh.

Deepak then shot Rahul a look that clearly said "Stop looking so happy."

Rahul raised both hands.

"I didn't say anything!"

Rajni shook her head "Enough, both of you. Sit down, Deeksha. Just a little longer, and you'll be holding your baby."

Deeksha slowly sat in the wheelchair.

Another contraction came.

She grabbed Deepak's sleeve."Don't go anywhere."

Deepak nodded."I'm not going anywhere."

A second later, she narrowed her eyes."But I'm still angry at you."

Deepak sighed dramatically."I know."

"And after the baby is born, we'll discuss your crimes."

"My crimes?"

"Yes. All of them."

Rahul couldn't hold it anymore and burst out laughing.

Deepak kept glaring rahul all the way.

They wheeled Deeksha into the delivery room, and the entire way she refused to let go of Deepak's hand.

Or more accurately, she was crushing it.

"Baby... my hand..." Deepak winced.

"You can still feel your hand?"

Deeksha groaned. "Lucky you."

Another contraction hit.

"AAAHHH!"

Deepak immediately forgot about his hand.

A doctor walked in and checked

everything calmly."Alright, Mrs. Deeksha, please lie down."

The nurses helped her onto the bed.

Then the doctor looked at the family.

"Only the husband can stay inside. Everyone else will have to wait outside."

Rahul, Ishani, and Rajni headed toward the door.

As Rahul left, he gave Deepak a sympathetic look.

Deepak looked back with pure fear.

Rahul silently wished him good luck.

The door closed.

Now it was just Deeksha, Deepak, the doctor, and the nurses.

Another contraction came.

Deeksha squeezed Deepak's hand so hard that he almost stood on his toes.

"AAAHHH!"

"Doctor!" she cried dramatically. "When is this baby coming out?

Please! This pain is too much!"

The doctor smiled."Don't worry. It won't be forever."

Deepak gently patted her shoulder.

"It's okay, baby. Just breathe."

Deeksha slowly turned her head and

stared at him."You're telling ME to breathe?"

Deepak instantly regretted speaking.

"Actually... forget I said that."

The doctor continued working calmly.

Deeksha was lying on the hospital bed, groaning in pain while the nurses and doctors rushed around, getting everything ready for the baby's arrival.

"Ouch! It hurts so much!" she cried, then turned to Deepak with a furious glare. "I hate you! I hate you so much right now!"

Deepak stood quietly beside her, not daring to argue.

He simply nodded and accepted every word like a soldier facing punishment.

The nurses exchanged amused looks.

A few moments later, the doctor walked in wearing gloves.

"Alright, Deeksha," he said cheerfully. "The baby is almost here. You need to push with all your strength, okay?"

Deeksha nodded, breathing heavily.

Trying to be helpful, Deepak leaned closer. "Uh... should I wipe your sweat?"

Deeksha shot him a look so terrifying that Deepak immediately grabbed a tissue, wiped her forehead in record speed, and stepped back to a safe distance.

The doctor raised his hands."Okay, Deeksha! Push!"

Deeksha took a deep breath, gathered all her strength, and prepared for the biggest push of her life while Deepak stood nearby, praying silently that both the baby and he would survive the day.

Deeksha pushed as hard as she could.

Nothing happened.

"Come on, Deeksha, push!" the doctor encouraged.

Deeksha took a deep breath and pushed again.

Still nothing.

"Harder! Push harder!" the doctor said.

Deeksha was already exhausted.

Sweat covered her forehead, and she was breathing heavily.

She pushed once more.

Nothing.

"Push, Deeksha! Push!" the doctor repeated for what felt like the hundredth time.

Deeksha slowly turned her head and stared at him.

The doctor smiled nervously. "Yes... push..."

Before anyone could react, she lifted her leg and gave the doctor a quick kick.

The doctor lost his balance and landed on the floor with a thud.

The entire room fell silent.

The nurses froze.

The assistant doctor froze.

Even the monitor seemed quieter.

Deepak's eyes became as wide as dinner plates.

"Oh my God..." he whispered.

The doctor blinked from the floor and looked around.

Deeksha pointed at him angrily. "You push!"

A nurse quickly turned away to hide her laughter.

Another nurse coughed to cover a giggle.

Meanwhile, Deepak stood perfectly still, thinking, I should not say a single word. Not one word.

The doctor slowly got up, adjusted his glasses, and cleared his throat.

"Okay... let's all stay calm."

Then he looked at Deeksha and added carefully, "And... maybe no more kicking the medical staff."

"Okay, Deeksha," the doctor said gently. "I know you're in a lot of pain, but you have to be brave. Just one more big push, okay?"

Deeksha nodded weakly. Tears filled her eyes as she took a deep breath.

"Come on, Deeksha," Deepak whispered, holding her hand. "You can do it."

Gathering every bit of strength she had left, Deeksha pushed with all her might.

A moment later, the room was filled with the sound everyone had been waiting for.

A baby's cry.

For a second, the entire room went silent with relief.

Then smiles appeared everywhere.

The nurses smiled.

The doctor let out a long breath.

"Finally!" he muttered dramatically. "I was starting to fear another kick."

A few nurses burst into laughter.

Deepak laughed too, his eyes already filling with tears.

Then he looked at his baby.

The tiny little face. The tiny hands.

His smile grew wider than ever.

"That's our baby..." he whispered.

Meanwhile, Deeksha lay exhausted on the bed, barely able to keep her eyes open.

Then she heard the baby's cry again.

Her heart instantly melted.

She slowly turned her head and looked at her child for the very first time.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

All the pain, fear, and struggle suddenly felt worth it.

Deepak quickly sat beside her and gently held her shoulders.

"Hey, it's okay," he said softly. "Everything is fine now. Look... our baby is here."

Deeksha looked at him through her tears and then at their baby.

Still crying and breathing heavily, she gave a small nod.

"My baby is really here..." she whispered.

Deepak smiled. "Yes. And thankfully, the doctor survived long enough to deliver him."

The doctor looked up from across the room."Excuse me, I can still hear you!"

Everyone laughed.

Even Deeksha managed a tired smile through her tears as she looked at her baby, knowing that this was the happiest moment of her life.

With a weak voice, she asked, "Doctor... is it a boy or a girl?"

The doctor smiled warmly.

"It's a boy."

For a moment, both Deeksha and Deepak simply stared at each other.

Then smiles slowly spread across their faces.

The doctor carefully wrapped the baby in a soft blanket and brought him over.

"Here," he said gently.

Deepak looked at his son with trembling hands.

His eyes instantly filled with tears as he carefully took the tiny baby into his arms.

The baby was so small.

So fragile.

Deepak's heart ached with love.

As he looked at the little face, a thought crossed his mind.

Mannat must have been this tiny once too.

The thought made his eyes even wetter.

His hands trembled as he held his son close.

The baby was crying loudly, his tiny face red.

But the moment he settled into Deepak's arms, the crying slowly began to fade.

Within seconds, the baby became quiet.

Deepak looked down in surprise.

The tiny boy seemed calm, as if he already recognized the warmth of his father's embrace.

A tear slipped down Deepak's cheek as he smiled.

"Hey, little one," he whispered. "I'm your papa."

Deeksha watched the scene.

Seeing Deepak holding their son so carefully, with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face, filled her heart with warmth.

A tired but beautiful smile appeared on her lips.

Deepak looked up at her, still holding their baby.

Their eyes met.

Neither of them said anything.

They didn't need to.

The happiness, relief, and love in that moment said everything.

As their son quietly in Deepak's arms, both of them smiled, knowing their lives had changed forever.

While later Deeksha was carefully shifted to another room, the baby held close in her arms.

One by one, people came to see her Rahul, Ishani, Rajni, and others.

Smiles filled the room as congratulations echoed softly, warm and genuine.

Then Rahul walked up slowly.

He leaned slightly closer to Deepak and whispered jokingly, "I thought you wouldn't survive."

Deepak's expression changed instantly. His eyes hardened as he turned to Rahul, anger rising in silence.

But Rahul only smirked, as if he had just said something amusing.

Without waiting for a response, he turned away and let out a quiet laugh while walking out of the room.

Rajni smiled warmly and said, "Mannat and Ishaan will be so happy to see this. They have got a little brother now."

Deeksha looked at Deepak and softly said, "Bring Mannat here with Ishaan. Let them see the baby together. She will be so happy."

Deepak nodded. "Hmm... I'll bring them."

Deeksha carefully held the baby close, while Ishani stood nearby, smiling as she looked at the newborn.

After a few hours, Rahul arrived with Mannat and Ishaan. Both children walked in together, curious and excited.

The moment they saw the tiny baby, they froze in shock.

Mannat's eyes widened. "Mumma... baby aa gaya!"

Deeksha smiled lovingly. "Yes... look, your little brother is here."

Mannat stepped closer, smiling softly. "He is so small, Mumma."

Deeksha chuckled gently. "You were also this small once. And see now, you've grown so big. He will also grow up one day."

Ishaan stood quietly for a moment, just watching.

Then Deeksha called him gently, "Ishaan, won't you come and see your brother?"

Slowly, Ishaan walked forward and looked at the baby. A small smile appeared on his face.

Ishaan reached out and gently touched the baby's cheek, giggling softly as the tiny baby reacted.

Ishani looked at her son for a long moment, her eyes soft with a warmth she couldn't fully put into words.

A gentle realization settled in her heart soon Ishaan wouldn't be alone more little hearts would call him big brother.

She slowly placed her hand over her stomach, her smile turning shy and emotional, as if silently sharing a beautiful secret with the world.

Everyone slowly leaves the hospital, their footsteps fading into the quiet corridors.

Only Deepak and Deeksha remain there now.

Their newborn slept beside them, wrapped in soft blankets, his tiny breaths bringing a gentle rhythm to

the stillness.

Deepak carefully helped Deeksha drink warm soup, his eyes never leaving her face, filled with concern and quiet love.

Deeksha turned her gaze toward their baby, exhaustion still lingering in her features, but so did a deep sense of peace.

"Thank you... for bearing so much through the delivery," she whispered softly.

Deepak gave a small, tired smile. "It's okay. But I think... two children are enough for me now. You were right."

A faint laugh escaped Deeksha despite her tiredness. "I still have to apologize to the doctor," she said, a playful spark returning for a moment.

Deepak chuckled under his breath. "Poor man... you really didn't spare him."

That broke the tension completely, and both of them laughed softly, the memory turning light instead of painful.

Deepak set the empty bowl aside and adjusted her blanket. "You must be exhausted."

"Hmm..." Deeksha nodded weakly, her eyes heavy.

He helped her lie back comfortably, tucking her in with gentle care. After a pause, she asked softly, "Have you thought of a name for our baby boy?"

Deepak shook his head. "Not yet."

Deeksha closed her eyes for a moment, a faint smile on her lips."Then think carefully... I'm giving you that responsibility."

Deepak smiled, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Alright. And you don't worry about anything now. Just rest."

Deeksha felt completely safe, completely held.

Her breathing slowly evened out, and within moments, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

The night stretched endlessly, broken only by the soft cries of the newborn.

Deepak had not slept at all.

Every time the baby cried, he would wake up immediately, confused and helpless, trying to understand what was wrong.

Deeksha stirred each time the sound filled the room.

She opened her eyes and said softly, "He's hungry... give him to me."

Deepak, still half-asleep, carefully handed the baby over.

The moment the child nestled into her arms, the crying stopped, as if he had finally found what he needed most.

Deepak let out a quiet breath of relief, watching them with tired eyes.

Throughout the night, this became their rhythm Deepak helping her, adjusting pillows, handing the baby over, gently helping him burp, and Deeksha taking care of him with calm patience.

In between those moments, she would sometimes smile softly, even through her exhaustion.

And in the stillness, memories returned to her.

She remembered Mannat's birth... how alone she had been then.

No one beside her.

No helping hands.

Only silence and responsibility pressing down on her.

Her mother had been angry at her decision to continue the pregnancy, and in that anger, she had left her alone when she needed her the most.

Her eyes filled with tears at the memory.

But this time was different.

She looked at Deepak tired, awake through the night, quietly standing by her side without complaint.

A soft smile replaced her tears.

She was not alone anymore.

This time, Deepak was with her.

Two days later, the doctor finally gave permission for Deeksha to be discharged.

Deepak had everything ready.

Carefully, he prepared to take her home, holding both her and their newborn with quiet care.

When they reached the house, it looked beautifully decorated, filled with warmth and celebration.

Ishani had made sure everything was perfectly arranged.

Deeksha stepped inside holding her baby, a soft smile appearing on her tired face as she took in the decorated home.

The atmosphere felt warm, welcoming... like a new beginning.

Rajni performed the traditional grah pravesh with Deeksha and the baby, welcoming them home with blessings and love.

Deepak then gently led her toward the room, while Mannat and Ishaan followed closely behind, excited and curious about the new member of the family.

Mannat suddenly spoke up, her eyes shining. "Papa... I've already thought of a name for the baby."

Deepak smiled slightly. "Oh? Tell me."

"Armaan," Mannat said proudly.

Deepak and Deeksha exchanged a glance. The name felt soft, meaningful... and both of them liked it immediately.

But Deeksha gently shook her head with a warm smile. "Mannat, the name is very beautiful, baby... but let your papa choose it."

Mannat tilted her head innocently. "Papa told me to also find a name. So I

searched and brought one!"

Deeksha looked at Deepak, amused and nodded.

Deeksha smiled at Mannat. "Where did you find such a lovely name from?"

Mannat answered proudly, "I asked Ishani aunty what my name means. She told me. Then I asked what a boy's name should be, and she told me 'Armaan.'"

A soft smile formed on Deeksha's face. "Wow... my little girl is so smart."

Deepak and Deeksha looked at each other again, the decision silently settling between them.

Deepak gently said, "Then our son's name will be Armaan."

Deeksha smiled, holding her baby closer, as the name finally gave him his identity Armaan, a wish, a hope, a new beginning.
